When they first started doing this again, it was a bit inconsistent. But after that, its been pretty consistent on every flight, at least for me. Stroopwafels now on flights until sometime mid-morning. Now its the regular snack mix, but at first, was either asian-style or ranch snack mix, depending on flight. And can vary on departures from international stations - I know I've gotten Peak Freans cookies on a flight out of YVR once.
In fact, I can't remember the last time I haven't seen these offered...even had them on short flights that don't offer a full beverage service.

The pretzels are a downgrade from the snack mix with seasoned sticks and those spicy things. Too bad.
No stroopwaffels either on a 9:30a dep earlier this week. Just the pretzels...

Been that way for quite a while. I haven't seen snack mix in at least a month...probably much longer.

Any snack at all has been very hit or miss for me (maybe 40% of flights) and the pretzels have only been served on maybe 1 of 5 flights. But I've also gotten Stoopwaffel on afternoon/evening flights

Thats a seperate service, Premium Transcontinental, in which Economy Plus gets snacks (Kind, Granola/Fruit Bar, etc.) prior to arrival. All of Economy gets a snack during the initial service during all flights, though.
So yeah, looks like United has discontinued the Savory Snack Mix (the second devaluation after Ranch/Asian choice went out the window.
Now there are Pretzel Twists.
Heres my ranking of the four afternoon/evening choices:
1. Savory Snack Mix (August 2016- August 2017)
2. Zesty Ranch Mix (Feb 2016 - Aug 2016)
3. Pretzel Twists (Aug 2017 - Present)
4. Asian Style (Feb 2016 - Aug 2016)
Somewhere in the middle are those ex-Canada niblets, which I dont mind.

well.. Actually Asian Style still exists on some Int'l routes. Got Asian Style snacks on UA199 (PVG-LAX) last month(they also had those when I took the same flight back in April). For Savory snack mix, I got those on UA1877 (EWR-SNA) last month. I think it just depends on the route. UA1877 is not even a premium transcontinental flight (the legroom for E- on this 737 was awful)!

Pretzels are not a snack by any stretch of the imagination. I'd like to go back to peanuts as they are mich nicer with beer. But of course the solution is always to take your own snacks.
