Can't wait to pair it with Illy coffee. Not long now!

... and very small. I do not consider that a snack. But I guess UA has to start somewhere, baby steps!

No free snacks in Y on yesterday's 10:40am PDX-DEN flight so they either forgot, it was a miscater, or snacks got cut (again)....either way, they will be the first to go as fuel prices tick back up.

The stroopwafels are really good. Best free Y snack I've had in domestic Y-. The ranch snack mix is just okay. Just having something though is a nice change.

I would guess the FA's forgot or it was a miscater. Been no indication that the snacks are going away.

Snacks aren't going anywhere, but I have been on some flights that just don't have it. CVG-ORD one trip, after a 2.5 hour delay (to be fair: It was the Friday of memorial day weekend - where there was a big ground stop - so I don't blame UA for the delay). I've lost track now, but believe this flight the FA decided it would be a water-only service, not sure why. I actually asked FA about the snacks, and she reacted like she had no idea UA had them. Then, I was in F on YYZ-ORD, where I know they didn't serve snacks in Y - we got basket in F, and I was going to ask if they could bring me a stroopwafel since I haven't been able to try one, but they weren't doing a snack on that flight, either. Then the onward ORD-CVG, in Y, and no snack on that one either. it's definitely not the duration - or not supposed to be, as I've gotten the bagged snacks on these routes before.

My guess is that FAs simply forget most of the time....they are back after years and years of not having them so I bet it's easy for them to forget although there seems to be A LOT of forgetting going on if that's the case.

Is there any way to tell which flights might have the stroopwafels? I've only been getting the ranch mix lately.

According to the original press release, Stoopwafels only on flights departing prior to 9:45 am. Which is why I haven't seen one - all of my flights have been in the afternoon/evening this year, though my next trip in August has a couple of morning flights that should have them. On these ones, even if upgraded, will try and ask if they'd bring one up.

Oh, and IME, every flight I haven't seen the snacks in have been UAX. Maybe just anecdotal, but being based in a UAX-only station, those are at least half of my flights on any given trip.

Thanks! That totally explains it. I haven't had any early morning flights on UA either. I wonder why they limit them to such a narrow window. My local coffee shop stocks stroopwafels all day.

Anyone who likes the stroopwafels, I found them at Fresh Farms in Niles on Touhy avenue. Pack of 10 for 6 bucks. Delicious!

Not uncommon to find in many markets, Trader Joe's, 7-11, even available on amazon.
