Agreed. I prefer the B752s. I’d recommend stay clear of the domestic B777s.

The 777s don't permit any carry-on bags on the floor under the seat in front of you in J. Do the 757s?

A small laptop bag or purse could fit under any of the footwells - a backpack is pushing it, though in the bulkheads row 1 / 5 there is more room.

Yes it's approved storage space on the 752.

I've only taken the service for one r/t between BOS and SFO thus far, but my experience led me to believe that from a "gate to gate" perspective, from BOS to SFO, UA is no. 1, with DL no.2 and B6 coming out at the bottom for a variety of reasons. One reason I would offer is that a nice lounge certainly contributes to the overall experience, which B6 lacks almost entirely, and while DL does measure up, they lack the frequency of UA.
LOL, BOS “by far and away” one of the better UC’s in the system. Yes, BOS like United’s other industry leading clubs has amazing cubed cheese and those really nice plastic cups. Spending an hour there to luxuriate before a flight definitely pushes UA far above the stellar B6 product.

Not to mention the fabulous UCs at the SFO end.

I also favor the 752 over the 777.
As a family of 4 we took an entire middle row of 4 seats, that had some benefit with 2 small kids.
And while not a PS flight, we also do LAX-HNL once a year in which case the 777 is better than the 752 on that route that have standard domestic F seats (which are more like E++)

All 752s have lie flat seats now. The "752" that has a standard domestic F seat is actually a 753.

You may be thinking of the old domestic configuration 757-200. Those have been retired for almost 2 years now. Last one taken out of service 4/4/16 according to United Fleet site. The 24-F 757-300 is still used frequently.

You are correct. I'm still a little bit jet-lagged from my Friday EWR-LAX PS flight...
Woke up 4 AM PST this morning.
That said, my thinking about the F seats on 753 being E++, I think, still is true. I booked us on a 737-900 this summer as Mrs Level really doesn't like red-eye HNL-LAX, also E++.

United PS service: 777? (EWR-LAX)

Hello all,
I am going to LAX from EWR on August 5-9. I want to know if there is any plane one this route that does the PS service. I am really interested in booking the 752 in E+ but might book the & 772/3 if there is PS on that route.

Any plane that flies this route (which would be an sUA 28J 752, an sCO 16J 752, or a 28J HD 772) will be p.s. service. I would book for a 757 of either kind if you are going to be flying in E+...the 772 is going to be 10-across in the back with no IFE. I have a small preference for the sCO 752 as it has an extra lav right behind the J cabin - makes it so you don’t have to trek all the way to the back to relieve yourself during the flight.

If you are in J, I would still stick with the 752 anyways - keeps you away from the 4-abreast middle section on the 772.

Also check Seatguru for E/E+ seat selection. Many on FT have commented that they thought they were getting a great "bulkhead" seat in row 20 on the 28J config, only to find out that there is no recline and limited legroom.
