except as the OP has been informed there is no change so that strategy will likely fail.

YMMV. I would certainly be unhappy if I booked a UA 772 and suddenly found myself on an AirMike 737, its certainly worth a stab at a rebook, and you go in with all you got... ;)

which is nothing, because there has been no change, it is a unsync changed ticket issue.

you are right, I looked and if you try to book that flight, its a 777-200 hawaii configuration:

Boeing 777-200
Cruise speed: 639 mph
Capacity: 32 United First®, 312 United Economy®
Propulsion: Two Pratt and Whitney PW4077 engines, rated at 77,000 pounds of thrust each
Wingspan: 199 feet, 11 inches

That said, I seriously hope they don't try to cruise at 639 MPH! (Max speed is 590, and I think the PW4077 will not hit that). Alas, who inputs these things into UA's web-site!

That's measured going downhill ;)

Maybe they are including tailwind in the cruise speed? I'm guessing the maximum cruise speed rating is relative to the surrounding air - not the ground. Could be wrong though...

No, it's just UIT's "competence" showing through.
