Combining 2 programs
Hi,
I am currently *A with OZ while being based at NYC. When the mileage was 100% at UA, I often reached *A Gold in a year with 60K (Asiana having 40K in 2 years as the requirement). The status was then valid for the current period + the next period, i.e. roughly 3 years. Basically out of 4 years, I spend 2 years reaching the status. I was wondering if for the other 2 years, I could switch to UA to try to get more miles as those are company paid travels paid in economy within the US and Canada (but for that, I use AC). In this case, while I am gathering miles with UA, could I still use OZ card for premier access and lounge? Or is that "impossible" since the premier access is determined by the frequent flyer program used during the booking? I am not even sure what I am trying to do is really useful or practical. Furthermore, with the new miles table, most UA flights are 50% or 75%, meaning I could require up to 6 more months to reach the status now. What are your thoughts on this? Does that make sense to try? |

When flying UA operated flights, PQMs paid flights credit to UA MP are at least 100%. When flying OZ operated flights, PQMs paid flights creditto UA MP are at least 70% (G, T, V, W) and all the rest are 100%. As far as RDMs, the G, T, V, W fares on OZ operated flights are 50% and K, Q, S fares are 75% -- but this is RDMs not PQMs. |
