Limited-time offer: Now through January 31, 2018, when you book a mid-size or larger car with Hertz through united.com, you'll earn 1,500 bonus award miles in addition to the miles you normally earn, for a total of up to 2,750 miles. You MUST go to the united.com landing page first, then click onto the Hertz offer from there. Going straight to Hertz.com could result in Hertz denying you the bonus miles.

MileagePlus members receive the following benefits:

Save up to 40% on the base rate* of each qualifying Hertz rental with discount code (CDP) 62455
Earn more MileagePlus award miles for each qualifying paid Hertz rental by providing a MileagePlus number when making a reservation or picking up a rental
MileagePlus Premier® members as well as primary cardmembers of the United MileagePlus Club and United MileagePlus Presidential PlusSM Cards can enroll to receive complimentary Hertz Gold Plus Rewards elite status.

T&Cs can also be found in the link above.

Screenshot of the actual email (less personally identifying information and the T&C's at the end of the email) can be found HERE.

Timing:

Initial Posting (500 miles) within 3-4 days of the trip. (some report 24 hours)
Bonus Posting (Premier Miles) within 7-8 days of the trip.
Additional Miles Posting within xx-xx days of the trip.

Retroactive mileage credit:

There have been many data points of car reservations made through United.com not properly crediting to the member's MP account. To obtain retroactive credit follow the link on the Hertz.com homepage under Customer Support named "Frequent Traveler Credit". Input your appropriate account and reservation details and you'll receive a response back from Hertz within 3-5 business days. Allow at least seven days after rental return before requesting the credit. This works for obtaining both the base mile credit and whatever bonus your status level entitles you to, e.g. GS/1K bonus, etc.

A DM from the Hertz Twitter rep says that it will count, as long as the time is not less than 24 hours keep.

Hmph, just completed my Hertz rental yesterday and noticed today they slapped me with a $13.99 refueling charge even though I fueled up right before return. After I fight with them about it, it's back to National for me.

Just booked it. I also did it through the United page, hoping for some extra miles. But on the hertz reservation, my UA number isn't displayed anywhere - how can I confirm it's entered?

I would add it to your personal preferences to be on the safe side.

Does this only apply if you choose to earn miles over Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points? Or will you earn both when putting the PC and CDP code in?

My guess would be that you have to chose to get miles. Not hertz points

Go to your reservation, click "Modify" and at the penultimate screen you have a choice of whether you're earning points or miles and if the latter which airline. But it would be wise to add the airline(s) to your profile so there'll be a pick list of them.

Miles only, unless there's an IT screwup.

Hertz/MP: Earn 5,000 or 7,500 bonus miles per rental

Had a pretty rough time getting my car today.

Hertz doesn't take debit cards as of three days ago Apparently. After working through that the agent asked me if I had a coupon and could show him one...which I don't? Told him it was booked through united and shouldn't have required a coupon.

Will stick to Avis for the future. Hopefully the miles post soon.

If you don't mind, How did you find out?

Any confirmation about using it without receiving the email?

Hertz/MP: Earn 5,000 or 7,500 bonus miles per rental

Have a car booked for 2 days this week. Was less expensive than Hertz with discount codes. Unusual.

Glad to see this email. I have a need for a two day rental in SAT later this month (Sat-Mon) and Hertz is a mere $19 more than Alamo.

They started a new requirement to show receipts if you drove below 75 miles. Its stupid but I guess too many ppl were abusing it.

"Terms and conditions
Advance reservation required. To qualify for the 5,000 bonus miles offer: Rental must be for a mid-size or larger car for 2 or more days, for pickup at a participating Hertz corporate airport or off-airport location in the U.S. by September 30, 2015. Discount code (CDP) 62455, promotion code (PC) 306644 and MileagePlus number must be included during booking."

How do you know if a location is participating? If you can do the booking at the Hertz.com page using the codes, that will be enough?
