This video is from a few years ago, but it wasn't posted here at the time, and I think people might find it entertaining. The audience is an auditorium of MBAs, in 2011.


First he talks about how tough it is to run an airline (first ~8 minutes of video). A lot of this part is basic strategy/finance/operations and it's pretty sensible.

Then (8:30-22:00) he talks about how he's so awesome at leading United, because of: his leadership, his deep respect for employees, how he mingles with his employees to learn from them, and how success of a service business is all about company culture (instilled by him!).

This latter part of the talk was almost comical at the time, because of the abundance of platitudes. It's even more funny in retrospect, seen from the perspective of employees and customers.
