My guess is we will probably see these targeted offers on an ongoing basis, much like the ones to purchase PQM. My guess is they analyze the yields on various routes and if you have a history of flying particular routes that aren't performing well then you get an offer. This is the way things are going to work going forward. No point offering incentives to people already flying routes that are already very full and profitable.

As a former GS / 1K who has switched to AA and lost status this year, I received the offer and am shocked at the low-ball PQD offers - $1,500 for 25,000 miles before 10/31 and $2,500 for 50,000 miles or $4,000 for 100,000 miles by 12/31. Seems pretty low since I could easily hit this with just one longhaul roundtrip but there going to have to do more to get me back now.

UA
together with the 'restore your status promo' this is just another slap in the face for those you stayed and spent the money.
Guess it time to look elsewhere. Hope this is what UA intended to achieve.

For whatever reason, I did receive this offer. I have been 1K forever it seems, and on track again for 2016 at ~70K so far and another 70K already booked for the rest of 2015. No PQD requirement as I am an Aussie living in Oz. Go figure....

Only explanation is that they are doing this by flyers of weak routes (are the Aussie routes not performing for UA?) but the better guess is Untied does not know its head from hole in the ground...

No luck for me, and you'd think I would be on their radar as someone who racked up a good chunk of my PQM ($9k) in the first few months of the year, then have hardly flown since (last UA flight was over a month ago, and I only have one more booked at the moment).

In (partial) answer to my previous question, I had a schedule change on my India itinerary and got UA to rebook me on different flights. The receipt now says issue date July 30.
I'm considering upfaring some of my domestic travel (e.g. T to S) to see what happens to the issue date.

Hmm. This is A LOT of Miles for those targeted.
Me thinks I'll dummy book a bunch of long haul award tickets over the weekend. This almost feels a bit like when they had the big miles sale, then immediately devalued the miles with the partner award increases. Perhaps the fears of dynamic award pricing are justified.
I hope I'm wrong, but assuming I can change the tickets down the road to appropriate dates without penalty, doesn't hurt to tie them up in the interim with best guess dates.

I'm a 5 year 1K. Right now I'm sitting at $4100 PQD and 40000 PQM with one flight booked and purchased for October, and I didn't get the promotion.
