Can United flight attendants accept tips?

I think a letter to UA telling of the great service would be appreciated more.

Flight attendants are barred by their companies from accepting tips. Their presence on air transport aircraft in the U.S. is required by federal rule for safety. Since this has been a long-standing policy, I'll close the thread. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator.
