And here I thought that this lowly 1K *finally* got a bone thrown at him and had a fighting chance to be upgraded ahead of all of the "non-status friends of GS".

We conversed a few weeks ago on another thread, but even since that conversation, I've applied a 1Ks GPUs to my itinerary into PN class. Again, I did this by applying the upgrade online (waitlist R), and calling and asking for a PN waitlist instead. Maybe I'm very lucky or its how I am doing it, but I'm 3/3 for GPUs confirmed this way and 6/6 for non-elite miles into PS PN space.

I thought there was a change a few years back where the traveler no longer inherits the status of the sponsor. Therefore, wouldn't it be R if the traveler is not GS.
