Will United waive change fee if another ticket is purchased for another passenger?

Going on vacation soon and will be purchasing another ticket for my travel companion. I've already purchased my ticket and plan to extend my stay by a couple days. Will United airlines have some sympathy and waive my change fee if I will be purchasing another ticket? We will be flying first class. Thanks in advance for your response.

Some F fares have no change fee. Discount F may have a change fee -- terms of which you agreed to.

If you have to ask, you don't have it.

Which, bizarrely, is usually larger than the change fee for an economy fare. I don't get the logic behind that one given the change fee was instituted as a way to make low-cost fares unattractive to the business flyer.
