Multi-city help
 

I have been searching the forums and cannot seem to find the answers I need. A United business class one way flight from CUN-SLC at the time we want is 676 a piece. If I book it using the multi-city CUN-IAH-DEN-SLC it is only 550. If I book this what happens if one of our flights is delayed and we miss the connection? Will the airline book us on the next flight or are we on our own?? Thank you in advance for any help.

You'd be fine on a single ticket.

Do both itineraries contain the same flights?

The only minor caution I would mention here is that some folks buy tickets in certain fare classes that appear to be business, but are really an upgraded economy ticket. In the case of missed connections, the agents will sometimes rebook you into economy. I don't fly those tickets enough to know the nuances, but someone here can certainly provide more information on the fare classes.

If both itineraries are the same, then it doesn't matter - go with the lower price and enjoy the savings!

Great thank you for all the information. I was just worried we would have to buy additional tickets if somehow one of the legs was delayed. Kind of hard to find info on multi-city flights.

The fare shows Business class P for the first leg and then United First class P for the second 2 legs. I don't know if that is upgraded from coach or if it booked business/first.

Could be either! Part of the uncertainty of flying today's UA.
