I noticed these new napkins on one flight last weekend but didn't think much of them. I would've described this portion of the design as "arrows" or "chevrons" if I'd been asked, though. Now I see what they're supposed to be and I don't think it comes across clearly. Nothing "wrong" with it, but not really an effective branding device IMO.

Quick tip for all old / new UA napkin lovers - don't wet them and use to wipe a stain off of your shirt as the ink in the napkin would much rather be on your shirt than stay with the napkin...

Have we really been driven this low on UA? Smisek has won. Other airlines talk about improved hard, soft product, new F and C cabins. At UA we get EXCITED because there are new napkons. Have we FINALLY found Jeff's promise of "a change we will like". This is the best UA can do to improve its product?

I agree. These napkins are vastly improved. The old napkins were quite ugly and offensive to the eye.

On the UA side they were from 2006 but what's shocking is that's the same time the current Delta uniforms came out.
Those have felt much more contemporary than the drab military UA or CO look.
