SPG to United Mileage Plus (How long does the points transfer take?)
 

I know that Starwood to United's 2:1 ratio makes it a bad option, but my wife has a lot of Starwood points and I am 2k away from a free international round-trip ticket so I'm hoping to finish the ticket off with SPG points. Hard to find any info on SPG to United points transfers (besides advising against it due to the bad bargain) but am hoping someone can answer the two following questions...

How long does the points transfer take?

Can we transfer points from my wife's SPG account to my United account (same last name, different first names on account)? This has worked in the past when transferring from SPG to AA, but I'd like to know if works with United as well.

They say 2 weeks.

Better off transferring Chase UR or similar, which take 0.5-2 days.
