the EWR club with showers had eggs and scone triangles this morning at 8, among other 'new' things. today is the first time i've flown since april, so i didn't realize the toasters were pulled.
do people really eat untoasted bagels?

All the time, when they're fresh.
Unfortunately the bagel sticks I've encountered have been several days away from fresh. For all the improvements in the food offering, UA needs to rethink the toaster decision.
Probably the first thing on Oscar's agenda after 90 days.

Totally agree on both fronts. I was pleased to see a return of full-sized bagels -- better quality by a mile than the "bagels" that were part of the old spread -- at the BOS UC this morning, replacing the bagel sticks. But without a toaster the improvement still felt hollow.
And BOS doesn't offer oatmeal or hard-boiled eggs after 8am.

Did someone say here that bagels (as in oval) are back and if so they are bigger? The ones before were even smaller than the tiny Lenders bagels. I agree about the sticks they are hard. They probably won't bring the toasters back for liability issues. You would have to work at cutting the bagel {stick} pretty hard longways to cut it in half. This would result in injuries possibly. For the time being I just use the {stick} to scoop up cream cheese and consume.

2 EWR clubs have showers. I assume you mean the C3 and not A club.

correct. my badd.
BOS had "full size" (think lenders, not a more robust deli/bakery bagel) bagels this morning in addition to plain sticks. EWR C3 had plain and 'everything' bagel sticks. i don't think there were any regular bagels at EWR.
EDIT: the little toaster lives on at HNL.

MCO Club has the new food
Just wanted to report from my pass through late this morning,
The MCO club has the updated food spread, although it is more limited then the other hub UC's I have been to. I observed hummus, peppers, cheese, soup, and olives on one side, and then on the other side of the glass partition it was cookies, whole fruit, and crackers. So there doesn't appear to be the grain salad, brownie brittle, or the breads. Although maybe it just rolled out so they are working the kinks out, or maybe they intended to keep the spread limited.
Regardless, a nice change from the packaged snacks. And, thankfully, a well placed sneeze guard is over the food.

5 am. CLE. No berries yuck raisins instead. Two flavors of yoghurt. Plain or vanilla way too sweet If I didn't have a lifetime membership, I'd never buy one for this.

Breakfast menu scaled back at IAD
New breakfast menu this morning at IAD D8 club:
Oatmeal gone - replaced with something like cream-of-rice.
Brown sugar gone - replaced with dark raisins (in addition to golden raisins and honey).
Scones gone - replaced with cheap croissants.
Bagel sticks gone - replaced with various cake slices (not too bad).
Strawberries/blueberries gone - replaced with some sort of fruit cocktail.
Hard boiled eggs gone.
No signs in front of the various items.
A "change you will like"?

Well that's certainly not a good sign. I hope that was a one-off anomaly. Looks like they right back where they were before.

Hi everyone,
Today we’re beginning a seasonal rotation of the United Club complimentary fresh food menus at our hubs. The menu launching today features more autumnal produce, hearty soups, and other seasonal items. We continue to progressively introduce a version of the previous menu at our line stations, and starting next year we’ll be introducing a new menu at all clubs with each season.
Here’s what you might see in our hub locations in the new rotation:
