Using awards to fly to Asia

Hello, I have 100k United points, 36k point from Freedom and 168k point from Sapphire. How many points do I need to book a roundtrip award flight to MNL? Would it be better to use those points for upgrade?

Any recommended award booking sites?

I'm sorry if I posted to the wrong location.

Thanks in advance.

What class of service?

How flexible is your schedule?

Where are you leaving from?

One above economy....I think Business Class, right?

We are pretty flexible (family of 3) and looking for a trip next year.

Flying from SFO.

On the United website....

Think it is is 70k for one way Biz class, but may depend where in Asia you are going.

You will need 160,000 MP miles to fly SFO-MNL in business class. The award chart is available at www.united.com . Star / partner round trip business saver award, N.America - S.Asia. :)

Thank you all. I guess I need to save more. :) And I bet by the time we have enough, the awards will not be enough, lol.

One up technically from biz is economy plus.

If you are set on dumping the miles, I would try to combine miles with paying for the flights.

SFO to Manila is about $500 each way.

My other option is to use miles for upgrade. Is it pretty easy to use after buying the ticket? I can get round trip tickets for 850 around March but wasn't sure if use of the miles upgrade is readily available. Thank you.

easy to use but remember most mileage upgrades require substantial cash copys also.

This is the really issue -- mileage upgrades are easy to request but if not available at booking, the success rate for non-elites (or low elites) is poor.
