For those of you who already have a credit card with Chase, here’s some more information:

Already have a Mileage Plus Club Visa Card? You’ll find that the key differences are that the new Club Card has the added benefits of free checked bags, Premier Access, 50% mileage bonus on all purchases, award tickets close to departure date without a fee and complimentary upgrades on award tickets (applicable for Premier members where available). The new Club Card does not award Premier Qualifying Miles for purchases. More specific information about your current card and the new Club Card will arrive in the mail in late April
Already have the Presidential Plus Card? The key difference is that the Presidential Plus Card awards Flexible Premier Qualifying Miles for purchases whereas the new Club Card awards a 50% mileage bonus on all purchases. Both cards earn 2 miles for every $1 spent on United tickets. If you’re interested in changing over to the new Club Card, simply call the number on the back of your current card to discuss your options. While the Presidential Plus Card and its benefits will continue, we are not taking any additional applications for new Presidential Plus accounts

If I have a club membership and get the MP club, do they refund the card used to pay for membership originally or can I request a check cause I closed my card?

Prorated UC fees have been offered in the past for those getting the Chase MP Club credit card -- it seemed automatic.

I just signed up for a club card. They were amazingly fast. Approved online in about 30 secongs. The card came within two days. The refund for the balance of my current United Club membership was automatically credited to my credit card balance within a week. I flew and used a United club during the x-over period by using my boarding passes for entry.

I was surprised by the speed and quality of service.

Minimum Credit Line on UA MP Club card?

I applied for the UA MP Club Card and was denied because apparently Chase has extended me the maximum amount of credit they can, I volunteered to close some accounts or move credit over to open the Club card account but the rep told me that wasn't an option and that all Club Cards have a minimum $20k credit limit....

I kind of find that a little hard to believe? Really $20k minimum? Can't be... So I thought I would survey you guys and see if anyone has a limit below $20k. Of course I told the rep the usual "My wife has a $10k limit, etc." but he wouldn't do anything. And it's not like I have THAT much credit with Chase.

Thanks. That was my recollection, too. I never paid a lot of attention to offers for the Club Card because I had the Presidential Plus card.

Yeah, I don't ever remember them offering miles as a sign-up bonus. They've never done that for the Hyatt card, either, but it's kind of puzzling that Chase has never offered miles for the Club card. For a $395 annual fee, they ought to give you something in that area. It doesn't really have to be a lot, considering the other benefits of the card (Club access, priority security, 1.5 miles per $, etc.), but they should give you something. Delta gives you 10K with the Reserve card, and AA is giving 50K with the Executive if you can meet the insane spending requirement.

With the Club card I gather that you spend $25,000 a year and have PQDs waived too?

What about 10,000 bonus miles after you spend $25,000 like the Explorer card offers. Do you get that with the club card.

I had not known about Hyatt Platinum status being thrown in. That's making me think hard about getting this (I have Gold status with UA and would get a fee waiver for the first year.)

Explorer to United MileageClub

This is a bit annoying: I had United Explorer as my main primary card on United.com. Two days ago, I got the Club Credit card and yesterday I booked a ticket using UC. Unfortunately, I did not change my primary card on United.com. So, now, I am flying from LAX without the benefit of free bags and priority checkin. I called the CSR and she helped me with changing the primary card from Explorer to UC and said the changes should be reflected in my itinerary, but that hasn't happened. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Give it a day or two for UA's systems to think/cycle and it will probably update. I haven't done what you did, but in my experience it sometimes takes overnight/24 hours for things to fully flow through the system.
