Keeping Chase Card to Keep UA Miles

Keeping Chase Card to Keep UA Miles
I tried searching for this, but came up empty. I have a Chase MileagePlus Explorer MasterCard (af only $65) which I keep to prevent my UA miles from expiring. I don't use the card, just pay the annual fee. I understand that Chase can cancel the card for lack of use. Has this happened to anybody out there? Thanks!

There have to be cheaper ways of keeping UA miles from expiring than paying $65/year. Have you explored all options for earning or redeeming miles, either of which will extend the expiration date of your miles?
