According to this FAA doc, it's "Accommodations," and I see both usages in industry references.

But Conner [CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes] said the 777s will replace the airline's aging 747s.

UA gets deep discounts on 77Ws, which they probably needed anyway.
Boeing gets a better shot at the 777 production line going right into 777X development.
Boeing frees up 789 slots to move up their delivery timetables.
All airlines in queue after UA gets slightly closer to their original delivery date.
UA's seat supplier gets to get rid of excess inventory
All in all, not a bad show for all involved.

The result will allow Boeing to get 777s to United faster while also moving up other customers in line to get the popular 787.
"All in all, every one of those moves was a fantastic, win-win solution, which we always are trying to do with our customers on these things," Conner said.

Boeing will close 787 surge line to make way for producing 777X
"The surge line’s last 787 will begin final assembly in October and will roll out of the factory at the end of the year, Loftis said."
"Bob Feldmann, vice president in charge of the 777X program, said that after the surge line is cleared out, the assembly bay will become the base for low-rate initial production of the 777X. The first 777X will go down that new line in 2018, he said."

Looks like the tentative plan calls for all 10 aircraft to be delivered December 2016 through April 2017:

The linked article also has some nice renderings of United's 777-300ER.

So UA is sticking with the straight line livery and not the wavy lines on the 787.

This is a Boeing spin that is inconsistent with UA's spin

"Meanwhile, United swapped an order for 10 Dreamliners in favor of the same number of 777-300ER aircraft, which became more attractive with lower fuel costs. United was the first U.S. carrier to fly the 787 and airline executives still like the plane. But Conner said the 777s will replace the airline's aging 747s."
As I understand, UA will put all 10 77Ws at EWR, where there is not a single B747. How does Mr. Conner's spin make sense?

I think the perfect solution would be 2x 788/789 depending on season, instead of 1x777W service. More flexibility.

Oh boy, they're going to get some new slimmed lavs to fit more 10-abreast coach in!
It found room to shoehorn in as many as 14 more seats by shrinking the lavatories.
...
The upgrades should be ready next year in time for the first deliveries of United Airlines’ 777-300ERs, Lund said.
