I fell asleep the other day, and missed the cookie service. I was shocked they didnt wake me up or hold one over for me.

I prefer them room temp. The oven adds this weird funk to them and makes them too soft.

On topic:
- Last week, the GA's started boarding so early that they were on group 3 when I showed up 5 minutes past the boarding start time. I had to store my carry-on 10 rows back.

- Nearly all the plugs at one of the IAH C UCs are too loose to hold my cell phone charger.

Yes - that tape job was literally holding together the business seat unit plastic frame in front of me... This was an old 767 3-class from MUC-ORD this week... Too many years of rollerboards pounding into that on their way back took it's toll, and instead of repair it properly it's the MacGyver duct tape method... It made me smile - just a bit...

Couldn't resist...

Yesterday's UA924 IAD-LHR (777-200) had a flight time of 5:55 due to very favorable winds at altitude. I was on a paid A fare, and the only paying passenger in F (six NRSAs plus one crew rest seat). With that short a flight time, I didn't get my money's worth

Oh, wait... there will be a make-up on the return.

Good point! If a flight is shorter than anticipated, passenger enjoyment of the "product" is cut short while the airline saves money on fuel, flight attendant pay, and other things. Plus, if you paid for wifi for the whole trip, you got less for your money, and if you have a connecting flight, you may be able to make your connection without running, thereby providing you with less exercise and negatively impacting your health. Surely there should be some compensation for the inconvenience of an early arrival!

My crew meal (UA pilot) was an aluminum cup filled with chili, and some cornbread on the side. Went ok with my coffee and orange juice, but a wee bit unusual for a 7 AM flight.
Good thing I have Cholula Sauce in my crew meal repair kit!

Passengers are wearing B6 socks in BF

Duct tape repairs are not color matched to seats

Even when they do a good job...United IT can't get it right

Yesterday, I had a very satisfactory phone exchange with a UA agent to change an award booking to a newly available direct flight. Fast, courteous and efficient.

Today I got a robo-phone survey about "my recent experience with a United agent."

Reminded me of Max Headroom in that the dialog repeatedly stuttered and/or completely repeated with only a couple of questions intelligible. After the second painfully completed reply, I gave up. I actually wanted to tell them how good the interaction was, but their incompetent IT prevented this.

The stools at the CLE United Club have legs that are way wider than the seats are. Thus, people are constantly tripping on them because nobody expects the legs to be so sprawling! That includes yours truly today—and I'm well aware of the hazard! What's stupid is why United won't remove this menace.

The stools are at least 10 years old. Surely they've tripped enough unsuspecting passengers by now to have fulfilled their evil purpose. BUY SOME NEW STOOLS, JEFF, YOU CHEAPSKATE!
