This legacy Chase credit card is not taking new applications. Compiled below is a comparison of current card-derived vs. status-derived benefits.

Overall, the current benefits of the PP and the replacement Club card are nearly identical. The key trade-off is increased redeemable mile (RDM) earnings with the Club card vs. FPQM with the PP card. Basically, the Club card earns an incremental 0.5 RDM / $1 vs. the PP cards 0.2 PQM / $1. This sets a 2.5 RDM : $1 PQM ratio, which puts a price on PQMs earned this way at $0.025 to $0.050. Given that PQMs cost atleast $0.08 or more each if purchased early in the year via award accelerator, this is a pretty good deal for those who anticipate falling short of the upcoming years desired Silver / Gold / Platinum threshold.

Benefits unique to the PP card:
- 1000 FPQM per $5,000 spend (or 0.2 / $1)
- FPQMs are only valid for Premier Silver / Gold / Platinum status, expire 3 years after earning
- 1 RDM / $1 card spend (x2 hotel & rental cars for personal card, x2 restaurants, gas, office supplies for business card)
- Premier Qualifying Dollar (PQD) waiver (no minimum card spend, doesnt apply to 1K)

Benefits unique to the Club card:
- 1.5 RDM / $1 card spend
- PQD waiver (with $25,000 minimum card spend, doesnt apply to 1K)

Benefits shared between PP and Club cards:
- $395 annual fee
- United club membership (vs. $450 1K/GS, $500 Platinum, $550 Gold, $550 Silver, $550 GM, +$550 with spouse)
- Waiver of 4 segment on United flights for Premier qualification (removed in 2020)
- Premier Access (group 2 boarding)
- 2 free checked bags (vs. 1 Silver, 2 Gold, 3 Platinum)
- Hyatt Gold Passport Platinum
- Hertz Hertz President's Circle status (vs. Five Star for Premier Silver / Gold) (expiring 31 January 2023)
- CPU on award tickets
- No <21 day award booking fees (vs. $50 Silver, $25 Gold, $0 Platinum)
- No foreign transaction fees
- Concierge service

Benefits compared to Explorer card:
- only $95 annual fee
- only 1 free bag for cardholder and 1 companion
- 1 RDM / $1 card spend, +10,000 bonus after $25,000 card spend)
- 2 single-use club passes
- Premier Access (group 2 boarding)
- Premier Qualifying Dollar waiver (with $25,000 minimum card spend)

Also works on my neighbors' doors. Don't ask me how I know.

I logged in to check my MP account tonight and noticed a Presidential Plus banner ad encouraging me to sign up for Hyatt Platinum status. Asked for my MP number, PIN, and Hyatt account number. Is the Hyatt status no longer automatic?
I filled out the form for the hell of it, system said it would take "4 weeks to process"

I do wonder if this is stale. I have filled it out twice (the first time was more than a month ago) and I have not seen anything in the mail.

I believe you mean the UC membership card, not the credit card, correct? The membership cards tend to arrive about 7-10 days before the end of the current membership, in my personal experience. As always, your experience may vary.

The iPhone app (and I'm assuming Android as well, since it did in the past) have the virtual card linked to your profile. It doesn't work if you're not at a UC though.

Mine has always shown up in early September for an October expiration.

So does your UA boarding pass, either on the app, printed at home, or issued at the airport.

I am a little surprised...

Even thought the Chase United Presidents card dropped Avis, I got a letter from the company saying that all my benefits are still in place. Guess Avis doesn't want to lose me as a customer.

Enjoying my Chase Visa with Apple Pay. I would recommend everyone who wants the Apple Pay to call and ask to get you Master Card replaced with the Visa, as I did.

I noticed that when I went to book a car last week. Nice touch by Avis. I hope that it sticks and isn't just because of the status from 2015.

My, too. I have not booked with Avis since 1.1 so thought it might be targeted. Will earn my business back from Hertz.

I didn't get an email from Avis. I haven't booked a car with them since November 2014, so maybe that had an impact on me not receiving a renewal notice?...

ETA: logged in and see it still says I'm a member of the President's Club. Maybe will use them, but IME Avis is almost always the most expensive choice, and with the 2.75k mileage bonus with Hertz, I have little incentive to switch back.

I get corporate discounts with Avis and National, so the cost is essentially a wash. It's all about the experience.

National status-matched me to Exec Elite, so I've been booking National this year so far to try to keep it up for '17, figuring Avis PClub would go away.

If not, I'll GLADLY go back to Avis... they have been nothing but awesome to me. Really thrilled that PClub access remains!

edit: To add, I got the same email. Perhaps they should've sent it earlier; they wouldn't have missed out on all my January and February rentals.

True, Avis is the more expensive option....but....

I always select one of the mid-sized vehicles and walk away with a luxury vehicle every time. The two-class upgrade is worth it. Don't get that with Hertz.
