Separate receipts for one reservation

I have united gold status and often travel with my wife so I like to have her on same itinerary to share free luggage and possible upgrades. However, I need a separate receipt for work purposes. Can I pay with one cc, and get a separate receipt online? Do I need to book by phone and use two cards? What do people do for this likely common scenario?

IME on multi-pax reservations on united.com the e-ticket receipts are provided separately per-passenger, with a drop-down box to select the individual passenger for whom you want to review the receipt.

Again IME, you may even see a separate charge from United for each pax even when booked on the same reservation.

Correct, charges are separate on a CC statement. But usually, I've seen the e-receipt that UA sends for all pax on a PNR.

The only time I've seen them separated is when, for example, one uses a TCV, then even booking at the same time, when the e-receipt/ticket is sent out, it comes individually. However, its been a while since I've done this, so can't remember 100% if it books into the same PNR this way, but IIRC, it does.

OP - can you not expense just your portion of the amount, and provide the receipt whole receipt as proof, and note the situation. My guess is most companies see spouses come along occasionally, and that they don't have trouble handling paying out only a portion of the amount.

What? No, I've never seen this. There is one receipt for everyone on the PNR. The different names and each ticket number is listed at the top middle of the receipt (but it includes everyone)

This is true.

To the OP --

You can either 1) separate the reservations (using the link in the middle of the reservation page) and reprint the receipts after the separation (you'll likely have to click the "add email and send receipt" button rather than just "view receipt), 2) print the e-ticket receipt at the airport from a kiosk or by an agent as these will only include a single passenger, or 3) do as emcampbe suggests and just expense 50% of the total amount on the receipt.

I have seen it, else I wouldn't have said it.

I'm referring to "View Receipt" when you pull up the reservation on united.com. I'm guessing from the posts above that the receipt emailed upon ticketing has everyone on it, but if you pull up the reservation on united.com and click "View Receipt" you should get a separate receipt for each passenger. At least, that's what happens for me (3 pax on this PNR):

Thanks for the visual! Sounds like a great feature...does not show up in my multi-passenger itineraries. :td:

Won't separating the reservations affect CPU eligibility for the separated passenger if not the same status as OP? #2 e-ticket receipt at airport seems most viable but OP has to wait to submit reimbursement expense...
