6. R0 at booking so we played the upgrade lottery. I booked NRT-ORD as seperate segments using multi-city. One ORD-LGA cleared about two days after booking. After checking inventory each morning, I noticed NRT-ORD was showing R5 this morning so I called UA and had them clear us off the upgrade list. The last ORD-LGA cleared about a month out.

Are we due for a 2015 thread? I have one segment so far for January which has cleared (at booking) for ORD-NRT. The return, via LAX, is waitlisted.

Agonized over waitlisting the return HKG-SFO, which is booked 18/52. I've cleared this every time in the past, but getting very nervous about riding the UA waitlist. So booked into open R on HND-SFO instead and will close the OJ with an Avios J award on the CX 744. Hello Wing!

Don't recall my original Y fare class. Booked in late August. GPU cleared sometime in early October.
My outbound cleared too (also a GPU) on 12/27, although only at the last minute.
I've extended my two remaining GPU's and hope they clear on flights before they expire.
