The Fleet Status site is:

https://sites.google.com/site/unitedfleetsite/

At the site, you can find information about the interior features, livery, etc., for every plane in United's fleet.

To determine which plane your flight will be on go to mobile.united.com and then click on flight status. Put in the flight number for your flight and just have it use today's date (occasionally it'll say flight not operated on this date in which case just choose one of the other 3 dates it lists). In the address bar you'll see something like this:

mobile.united.com/FlightStatus/FlightDetails?carrierCode=UA&flightNumber=1647&fli ghtDate=11%2F30%2F2015&origin=EWR&destination=SFO

https://mobile.united.com/FlightStat...estination=SFO

Just change the flight date to match the day of your scheduled flight and then change the origin / destination as necessary. Once you do that look in the details tab under aircraft # and if they have assigned a plane it'll say something like #3506 and the type of plane. Once you know that go to the United Fleet website listed above and cross-reference the four digit number against the "aircraft" column under the appropriate aircraft type.

Keep in mind that things change as they get closer and sometimes either they won't have assigned an aircraft yet or it'll be assigned #0 if it's a few days away and they are anticipating aircraft movement.

You may also check the specific fleet variant of each flight at the United Cargo site under "Schedules & tracking". This data tends to be reliable starting 7 days in advance, but is always subject to change.

Does the wiki need updating, with some of the completion of certain aspects?

Such as:

Completion of Slimline seating across all A319 and A320s.
Copa and China Southern leases
Other modifications/alignment within some of the Boeing planes (is mid-lav removal complete).

So...UA pulls a plane out of service for 11 days to reconfigure seats (IE add more) but they can't take the time to install IFE? United now has 70+ new 737-900s with nothing but Wifi...

This airline sure seems to have their priorities straight

789 New delivery:
N27959 sked to exit SEA Induction 2193/30Sep - 1st revenue flight sked 1405/30Sep LAX-DEN 12:58p dept

Unaware of the reason the 739ERs are not getting the streaming WiFi. Once turned on, wyould expect quick addition as with the Airbus fleet which had them all installed within a few days IIRC.
UA, like every airline has mod programs that take place at several locations. I'm not sure what is needed to turn on streaming WiFi, software, equipment availability, etc.? In any case, slimline installs could probably not be delayed to quicken streaming WiFi installs. I think we're all frustrated on this and hope it gets moving ASAP.

aacharya, I'll check the Fleet site to see what can be removed due program completion.

As far as I know when the streaming is turned on for the 739s, as well as the couple of 738s and 73Gs that will have it, it will be different from the other streaming services. It will be streaming Live DirectTV. I believe this install is ready on the planes but the software isn't ready from DTV yet.

Hopefully they'll still have the movie content available.

One interesting thought about the PDE installation on the 739s and select 73Gs and 738s is that United just references the existing PDE literature which is what we are used to seeing on the Airbii and RJs, no where does it mention DTV is pending. One would hope that the installation would include both the PDE we are used to in other parts of the fleet and DTV.

A bigger thing for me would the ability to transfer wifi access between flights via a day pass or monthly pass and make the purchasing process simpler (e.g. save my CC info which happens on the KU system but not the KA system). With the KA systems on part of the fleet and the KU system on the other part it's frustrating to have to start from scratch on each leg.

Any word if the software across the different systems (minus the GoGo UAX fleet) will be standardized where possible?

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...ov-2015-a.html gives some hope of an unified pricing system.

Boy would it be nice to have the DirecTV streaming expand to the entire fleet... A guy can dream, right?

I LOVE having the ability to watch live events - i.e. sports, etc..... so great!

763:
N665UA entered MIA 2153/25Sep, maint only as already has WiFi

That plane is not going to get in-seat IFE so no surprise that it didn't happen.

As for the system being different from the existing kit on the other planes, that is to be expected, though i'm sure UA is going to try to keep the UI as close to the same as possible, just like the way it does the wifi login process.
