UA37 EDI-EWR canceled 4/14, mx

UA982 KWI-BAH canceled 4/14 for crew availability
Also UA981 BAH-KWI same reason.

The flights between IAD-KWI-IAD seem to be operating, but IAD-KWI is scheduled to arrive 2:40 late, and KWI-IAD is blocked at 1:20 late w/ an ETD of 0145a.

I have a friend of mine who was supposed to be on UA801, but when that cancelled, he was going to call about getting on the non-stop to LAX (either UA, BA or NZ) because his final is SBP (but originally booked LHR-EWR-LAX-SBP), and the auto-rebooking system would have him arriving in LAX after the last flight of the night had gone for SBP. Apparently the phone agent said that the cancellation is not in their control because it isn't a maintenance delay.

With logic like that how can anyone win?

Friend needs to HUACA and demand reasonable re-accommodation. Flight crew availability is very much in UA's control, like almost all of the other disasters hereto spelled out in this thread. At the least, he should be provided with ground transport to SBP on arrival at LAX, or an overnight hotel at LAX with flight the next day.

He actually merged the call with me and his 4th attempt with UA. He has no status, so I got to see what it is like for non-status members and it is shocking and appalling. First, once again, they told him that he would need to take the routing that .bomb had selected. After I piped up and suggested that they try and find seats on LHR-LAX or LHR-SFO the agent became defensive and said that she could route him via IAD, which would also cause an issue. The agent actively tried to not look at the non-stops from LHR to either SFO or LAX. After realizing that this was going no where, we all disconnected, got him back on the line and I called the 1K line. Within 5 minutes, was able to get him on LHR-LAX and the LAX-SBP on the same day. When I told her about the issues calling the general line, her answer was, "now there are so many things we have to take into consideration, including the fare type, and management doesn't want us to change the whole itinerary, just the segment that is causing the issue so technically the regular agent was ok in offering a different EWR flight."

Did anyone mention the 600 EUR in any of the calls?

Nope, but I doubt that will take effect because he is leaving earlier tomorrow.

UA 134 EWR-ZRH left past midnight, instead of 6h20p.m.. Wondering, if there was a crew change, as such a delay often results in a crew going illegal?
