United Airlines Award/Premier Accelerator Rates [2015]

As of three hours into the new year, my rates are:

Accelerator RDM: 2.1 (unchanged)
Accelerator PQM: 12 (down from 35)

Across the board.

My costs match yours, and have been unchanged since November. My travel companion has the same costs with lower mileage offerings (no status) on her itinerary.

I might bite, based on when my FPQM will be expiring, and how many! Last year was a good travel year for me, not really sure what his year has in store -- but I can guarantee I will earn less miles! It was my first time hitting gold, courtesy of two thousand FPQM and one PQM Accelerator purchase.

For those of us on restricted budgets, RDMs are going to be harder to earn after March 1st, so there may be more value in purchasing accelerators for that reason. I have an offer of 75K RDMs for about $1,600 on a SINRun at the end of this month That and the mileage earned with my elite tier bonus would yield 115K RDMs for $2.1K (fare paid plus accelerator) for an average of 1.8 per RDM). Not sure about buying, but could be worthwhile.

I'm also seeing 2.1+12 across the board.

Domestic or Int'l itinerary - 2.1cpm/14.1cpm PQM

Maybe I should have bought the 1.9cpm from last year...

I decided to bite for the 2.1 RDM rate for my Asia trip this weekend, pretty much for the reasons Shareholder outlined above.

Is it really worth it to spend $1260 for 60,000 extra miles? (Award Accelerator)

Is it really worth it to spend $1260 for 60,000 extra miles? (Award Accelerator on an existing reservation)

It it about 45% cheaper than buying the miles normally. Being awful with math, I can't figure out why anybody would buy 60,000 miles for $1260?

If you value business class or first class at the prices UA charges for revenue seats, then it is worth spending 2 cpm so that you can book business/first class in then future at a discount. Back when I was spending 500K M+ miles per year, I valued award accelerator for that reason.

Are you planning to take a trip for which you need these miles? In that case if the cost of your ticket is more than what you would spend on miles, you will come up on top. At 2c/ mile, you are at a decent rate for mileage buy. Also, if you plan to fly on tickets that wont earn enough RDM after March 1st, you could use these to pad your account (again only if you need them and plan to use them).

And lastly, if you have money to buy it (that is your call).

Yes it can be worth it.

I recently redeemed a UA domestic F award SFO-BOS/JFK-SFO that priced out at $3400 - that's 6.8 cpm.

I'm seeing 2.1c/9.9c for RDM/PQM on my reservation to Asia at the end of the month.

UA is undercutting its accelerator

Buy miles email (targeted) promo today...

"Save up to 50% when you buy miles toward getaways and more"

150k for miles $2821.88 when maxed out... comes out slightly under the $.019 low from last year.

if someone already bought the most number of miles(with or with discount), can he/she continue to buy Award Accelerator miles as part of the reservation?
