Calendar based system -- if the PQMs are purchased in 2016, they will be added to the 2016 PQM total, not the 2015.
{Note it is purchase time not the flight times that matter for Premier Accelerator PQMs.}

Yep Midnight Dec 31 Chicago time the PQM counter resets (but flights schedule to depart 2015 in local time will still count for 2015)

I'm seeing extremely cheap rates. I was 9.5k PQMs from 1K and was offered 6.5k and 13k miles at 10.9cpm (including PQM accelerator).

Very interesting to see this late in the year. I grabbed 6.5k and will fly the remaining 3k .

Route was an award ticket from NRT-IAH for mid December.

That is cheap for this late in the year! Nice one!

No love here, PQMs are 25 cpm!! but since I will be short PQDs also, I wouldn't bite at 10 cpm either.

Hmm, just looked for my flight next week

8000 miles -
184 Dollars for miles - 2.3 cpm
720 Dollars for PQM - 9cpm

Am I doing the math correctly?

Yep! 11.3 cpm is not a bad deal for PQM + RDM this time of year.

Unfortunately, it does me absolutely no good. I just did my status match, so I only have about 6K spend in 2 months and not flying too much more, and already Plat, no real way to make the 12K spend to even think about 1K until next spring. I was hoping they would status match me to 1K but they didn't.

That could be why you're getting a cheap offer. It could entice you into buying PQMs and then doing an expensive PQD run.

So the earlier response to my question, suggesting that the price of PQMs drops after Jan. 1, doesn't help me in terms of needing status miles in 2015, correct? I was confused about getting that advice on the previous page. Judy

I just paid:

5,000 MileagePlus Award Accelerator miles $115.00
5,000 MileagePlus Premier Accelerator miles $500.00

I have no idea if this deal is good or bad, but I needed ~3,300 Premier Qualifying Miles to qualify for Silver. I have never qualified for status on any airline before, and I was really excited to do it.

12.3 cpm for pqm + rdm is not the cheapest ever offered, but at this time of year is very good. The only offers I have available right now are 27.3 cpm.

That is exactly the same deal I was offered on Dec 1st. I took it, as taking into account flights in Dec booked but not yet flown, I needed just under 8000 PQM to make Plat (and I already had met the PQD target).

Cheers,
Rowen
