Have you flown UA/ANA to Bangkok?

I did that segment about a month ago. NRT/BKK on a 788 and a 772 on the way back in C. I did not find the 788 seat comfortable. Also pens were hard to find at immigration arriving into BKK.

SFO/LAX NRT/HND-BKK is very hard to find on UA/NH
full flights?
the ua website keeps pushing SFO HKG on UA connecting to CX

I think others are right about Chinese new year. Do you have to go? Because CNY is a crowded cluster mess. But maybe you are Chinese so....
If you can go later there are more flights.
What I did is book to Hong Kong. It arrives at 7pm. Then I paid for a Thai AIr flight to Bangkok leaving at 845 pm. It cost about the same as your flight dates, less butt time to BKK, and I will get the miles.

I have noticed recently that low economy fares are being routed through HKG while higher economy fares (w and above) are preferring the route through NRT.
Try your search again specifying "w" or higher and see if NRT doesn't show as an option again.

One other thing on this.
Has anyone actually successfully booked the route including the CX connection to BKK for the price listed on the website?
Because, I could not before. When I called the agent told me it would not work because of the out of network of CX.
She repriced it with the CX connection and it was almost $700 more than the website price.

I'd actually like to here more about the UA/ANA experience than how to avoid the UA/ANA flights. Perhaps there can be another thread.

I've flown UA NRT<->BKK dozens of times, and then in the last year or two, flown it dozens of times on NH.
Now non existent UA flights:
- New config planes were fantastic, with full lie flat in C/F.
- Soft product was terrible, like normal
- Couple years ago, still flew old config on this route which was just ridiculous, this route had old birds for longer than TPAC did on some routes
- Flight times were perfect for NRT connections
NH flights:
- Absolutely terribly C product, it's a new fangled barcalounger. No lie flat is terrible on a 6-7 hour flight. A disgrace.
- No F cabin. While TG flies a 3 cabin A380, NH flies a 787 and 7x7 with no lie flat seats and two cabin service. Unbelievable. Even JL purportedly is offering lie flat on this route now (unconfirmed). This is a LONG FLIGHT!
- Soft product beats UA, but I still _never_ eat, as I either eat upon arrival in BKK at a good restaurant or on my NH TPAC F connecting segment
- Flight times work out well for NRT connections of course, to NH or UA. Earlier departure though from BKK (vs the old UA flight) means getting up an hour earlier - or partying an hour less all night in BKK.
Overall I am thoroughly unimpressed with the NH flights. This is the only city pair where I actually preferred the legacy UA service to NH, amazingly. TPAC is an entirely different animal where NH beats UA IMO hands down in C/F.

The subject implies an inquiry of the flight experience when booking 016 stock (ANA codeshares) when also flying UA as part of an itinerary.

I fly NH TPAC a couple of time a month. I fly NRT<>BKK or BKK<>NRT on average 4 times a months. I avoid NH like the plague on NRT<>BKK. Terrible hard product.

As with most FT threads, there has also been discussion of related topics, particularly the difficulty of avoiding the NH experience while still maximizing UA FF benefits. As this is a topic of great interest to many here.
And as with all FT threads, one is always free to ignore any or all of this.
