Gate Check Free?
 

I am about to fly to Europe, and have a lot of stuff (ski trips aren't the lightest baggage trips). Anyways, I will be checking my ski bag. I am taking a carry on that fits within the size constraints, but would love to gate check it through to Europe. Will they charge for that bag, or is it free?

It should be free - but they may not ask for volunteers. That said, they probably could be persuaded to gate check another bag unless the flight is quite empty so that overhead space won't be an issue.

Just double-check to make sure it's checked to where you want it to go.
