New Boarding and Taxiing Music?

The last two flights I've been on (to CDG and JFK) both had a new light techno-ish music while taxiing. Anyone else heard this?

They had been doing Rhapsody while taxiing on landing for PS flights.

One even had it as boarding music, which was a bit much, and I think an anomaly.

I was used to that, this was a whole different song.

Techno would be a very compelling reason to bring my own own music.

"Ride of the Valkyries" or nothing, please.

80's porn music would be more soothing IMO

No taxiing music allow. Only boarding or deplane music. This is new and yes it sounds pretty bad IMO.

Are you talking about the instrumental version of Kid Francescoli w/Julia called "Blow up"? http://youtu.be/xAZbf5dr8V0

I love it, the dying whale sound motivates people to deplane quickly

Yes while boarding Hnl-EWR on Sat I heard this. Lady behind me asked them to turn it off because it was too "loud and annoying"

Heard it for the first time yesterday. Why are they subjecting people to any type of music? If people want it, they'll bring their own, with headphones.

Had it on boarding a 763 in SCL last week. It was, ummm, interesting.

Maybe there is some relationship between techno-ish type music (OP) and the United brand we aren't seeing, err hearing?

We just heard on a R/T from EWR to GLA. Sounds like they went to a musician and said "Create something that sounds like the Cure meets Moby"…it was pretty good actually I thought, and I work in the business.

Probably because other airlines do it, so we must follow? (Not looking at DL)
