Why am I not charged a change fee?

I have no status with UA. I bought 3 tickets earlier this year around $450 each. But I had to cancel the trip so cancelled the tickets. Just a few days ago, I changed the tickets to another destination around $590 each. I did it online and I was only charged the difference. There are no change fees listed anywhere. I thought I have to pay $200 per person? Is it going to show up later when I actually take the flight?

It all depends on the fare basis and conditions of your tickets - perhaps you purchased a fare that didn't have a change fee if reapplied to another ticket...

If there's a change fee, it is paid in order to use the ticket's residual value. If you were not charged, I suspect that's the way it will stand.

Sounds awesome! I don't know which fare I bought, but it is one of the cheapest one. Now I have extra $600 budget for the trip! :D
