Who will be the first FTer to go to SFO Centurion Club in UA terminal?

The Amex Centurion lounge at SFO opens Thursday. UA Term 3. Who will be the first to report out? I had a meeting with a Senior VP for AMEX today (for another project) who was in town for the opening, and they are very positive about this product...as I am I! I'll get to go next week. She said they are targeting United terminal first, then AA to compensate for loss of access to these lounges by AMEX card holders, and to offer a great product where it is most needed......

Is it airside? Must one be flying UA to get to the door?

I was very impressed with the Centurian Club at LAS (which I lucked into after seeing an email literally in-flight toward Vegas) and providing that same benefit to Amex customers in T3 at SFO is a welcome addition.

Might need it badly if yesterday's horrible bag tagging experience at the new SFO Premier check-in lobby is going to be a regular thing.

The lounge is airside by gates 74/75, though I think in SFO they'll let you into T3 with any boarding pass

It's airside in the UA terminal. I will be able to enter with a AMEX Plat card...not sure who else gets in or if you need a UA ticket to go with it.....

I know the hours will begin at 5:00 a.m., but is that true for this Thursday? I plan to be there.

If I remember correctly, Amex Plat and Centurion card holders get in free. Any other Amex cardholder can get access for $50 per visit.

I was at the one in LGA a week ago. Big step up from the United Club.

Centurion clubs, at least the one in DFW, do not have a true business area with mini cubicles like every UC I have been in. There is a conference room that one can book free of charge though.

If you plan to make lots of calls, the UC is better for you.

If you plan to eat/drink/shower the Centurion is better for you.

At any rate this new club will reduce crowding in both SFO UCs and the GFL.
