I once flew on the same flight as Speaker Boehner from DEN-SNA. He had quite an entourage getting to the plane (couple of cops in the terminal, then a few police cars escorting an Escalade or two on the tarmac, luggage loaded directly from the cars into the plane. He sat in the last row of F (A320) and I believe he had two or three aides sitting in the first row or two of E+. No fussing around at all on the plane. No evidence of a large security detail, although I would have expected some considering how high up he is in the presidential succession scheme.

This isn't that unusual for individuals that fly private domestically, depending on the reason they fly private. The cost of flying private longhaul is disproportionate to shorthaul; a 3hr flight may be $15k ($5k/hr) while a 12h flight is $250k ($20k/hr) because of the size of aircraft needed. Or you can do it for $10-12k/hr, but have to stop in Anchorage for fuel and have a pretty small cabin.

Some airlines with leading premium products even offer a fully integrated service with a private jet pick up at a convenient local airport to get to the hub for your longhaul first class flight.
