Saver Award on GermanWings

I have searched and can't find the answer to this, and neither United nor GermanWings seem to know either.

If I book a UA saver economy award on German Wings, does that get booked as GermanWings "Basic" or "Smart" class?

Thanks!

Until recently all flights on Germanwings that were booked through a GDS (as it is the case with a UA-award) are automatically booked as Smart-fares. However Germanwings started offering their Basic-fare through GDS also (Sabre first, Amadeus to come in October IIRC), so the former automatic "if you have a ticket number you are in Smart" does no longer apply.

However that said, all awards on 4U are still in Smart as to the best of my knowledge...

Greetings - Dirk
