As of Dec 4, 2014, up to 2 Jan 31 2015 expiring GPUs can be extended to April 30, 2015
- Call or email 1K/GS agents to request
- Must have re-qualified for 2015 as 1K (or GS)
- No extension for RPUs
In past this must be done prior to expiration, would assume the same this time also.

I was also told that they have not yet decided whether to extend and that the decision was "up to corporate"

I only had to extend on GPU once and that's what I did. I booked a flight to LHR and it had upgrade space. I called Mileage Plus and gave them record locator so they could see it. I mentioned specifically that I'd just booked it so I was in the 24 hour window to cancel if needed. A little passive aggressive but it worked. They checked the rez and were happy to extend and apply the GPU into early February.

If I apply GPUs to travel at the end of Jan and the they don't clear are the re deposited or do they expire.

That's what I'm afraid of. I have four tans cons in Jan and want to use all 6 of my remaining GPUs/RPUs (I finally cleared for the first time this year LAX-HNL in Dec), woohoo! I can only apply them to 6 of the 8 segments and it's doubtful all will clear. If I had to put money on it, none will clear due to HOD. Would be nice to roll over!

called today and apparently they now have the memo ... same as last year ... up to 2 GPUs can be extended till 4/30/15 ... unfortunately not RPUs
