As of Dec 4, 2014, up to 2 Jan 31 2015 expiring GPUs can be extended to April 30, 2015
- Call or email 1K/GS agents to request
- Must have re-qualified for 2015 as 1K (or GS)
- No extension for RPUs
In past this must be done prior to expiration, would assume the same this time also.

And it has always only applied to people who have requalified. If you're in this group, just use a 2015 GPU and have them adjust the expirations after the fact. If you're not in this group, you have a close to zero chance.

fwiw i wrote 1kvoice yesterday about this (i have a flight in February) and got this reply. i have not requalified.

When will UA start extending GPU's that expire 1/31/15?
When will UA start extending GPU's that expire On 1/31/15? I called 1k customer service and they said that the company has not said anything yet about extending the GPU's that are expiring 1/31/15.

Have you requalified for 1K yet? That typically has been the first criterion.

here's hoping i clear my last two paper GPUs on LH later this week. gave one to my traveling partner because if they don't clear they will not be worth the paper they are printed on.
if that becomes the case i may call in and request an extension under my super duper premier silver 2015 status, just to hear the reaction of the phone rep. could make for good comedy.

OK, so has anyone had any luck this year? Will have two that I would like to use in the 2nd week of February. Don't think I am going to go for 1K. Have well over 10k in spend, but only at about 68K pqms so far.

IIRC only those who requalify for 1K were allowed to extend u/g instruments.

called just now (nov. 10, 2014) and was told "no, sorry, not extending GPUs for 2015 at this time." "at this time" gives me some hope they will do it later. i was transferred from reservations to MP, not sure they had my data (status, spend, etc) as she didn't ask who i was - not sure whether that makes a difference or not.
