SFO to CMH $1000??

Trying to book my flight for late October. Want to stick with united since it's a lot if miles to give up. But it's $1000 vs $355 with us airways

Is it because it's too early?
October 22 is the travel date.

Alternative airports? Can someone help please? Thanks!

You're departing and returning to SFO on October 22? How much time do you need on the ground before coming back?

Just did a quick check and plenty of economy options at around $450-$500 - still more than US but half of what you were getting...

Very strange- all of mine showing at $1000! Is it because I'm in Germany right now?

Could be. Try logging in to your account on UA.com and redo the search.

SFO to CMH $1000??

Could be a different price based on POS.

Make sure you are on the US version of the site, then try re-running the search. Note if you use a card with a German address, it will likely switch back to The German site, and may very well go back to the higher price.

Not sure if this is still the case, but as of a few years ago, some routings required a three-day minimum stay in order to get a cheaper fare. Just like what the OP may be seeing, fares used to be around $350 on US regardless of length of stay, whereas fares on UA were $1000 for stays shorter than 3 days.

That assertion here can't be reconciled with reply #4.

What you are seeing is the cost savings by moving CMH to Envoy Above & Below the wing ops.

1000 RT SFO-CMH is what I pay when I am inside 7 day advanced purchase. Your price should be around 450.

I run into this someimes when I book flights from APAC - make sure you are on the US version of .bomb - not the German version with "English Language" option as emcampbe points out... I just checked again - it's still sub $500 for both return dates:
