I've been on a few flights where I see the FA's hanging out in the galley after the service eating sundaes. Since the FA scoops the ice cream out, I guess the FA controls the amount you get. I've had some FA's give me two small scoops, and some pile it up so its hanging off the side of the cup and the toppings are falling off.

Anecdotal evidence that IAD<->KWI/DXB (latter in particular) can often book 100% paid premium cabin or, at the very least, 1K/GS upgrade. Mommy's little girl wouldn't have been in Y otherwise...

i gave my F seat to a friend the other week and sat in 21 so my other friends and i could play cards. he asked the FA to send me the meal and she brought it back and i ate it. just the entree. no tray etc. which was fine. i was honestly surprised they did it given the no culture that has been building as of late.

If you make reasonable requests, you'll hear "yes" a lot more. I know we always do.

I think this is the issue. If I'm sitting in Y internationally, and the person beside me suddenly receives a C meal and glass of wine, I think I would wonder too.

When I ask for things like this, I play it with a , "I hate to be a pain but is ther any chance you could _________"

At least it lets FA know you're asking for non standard request and acknowledging it up front.

That's the way I also generally handle things like this. Imagine my surprise to read the article on the front page this morning about a new FA's first impressions: something like "when a passenger starts with 'I don't want to put you to any trouble, but...,' I know they'll put me to kore trouble than anyone else on the plane." Different strokes for different folks!
