You should not delay check-in unless you have a companion upgrade issue.

The unpublished EUA list will continue to process in the background even after you check-in, so checking in will not negatively affect your upgrade chances before the list goes to the gate (at approx. T-1). Time of check-in can be a tie-breaker on the gate (standby) list, so if you delay check-in, you could be impairing odds of getting the upgrade.
