2-4 July NYC/E.Coast Storms: Impact to UA's Operations (Travel Waiver, IRROPS, etc.)

FYI, just noticed the following airports have waivers for today

New York/Newark, NJ (EWR - Liberty)
New York, NY (JFK)
New York, NY (LGA - LaGuardia)
Philadelphia, PA (PHL)
White Plains, NY (HPN)
Baltimore, MD (BWI)
Washington, DC (DCA National)
Washington, DC (IAD Dulles)

Hoping they extend it to tomorrow in time for me to change my 8am flight tomorrow

July2 Northeast Waiver

At least they put a waiver out this time for free rebooking instead of claiming weather after the fact

July2 Northeast Waiver

There are apparently thunderstorms to the west. Waiver would've been good this morning, before I got to EWR and boarded my flight that's now sitting on the Tarmac with no ETD. Sigh....

well, I have wondered if there is any consideration if you make a change at 8am and at 8:01, they issue a travel waiver. I would think they should refund the change fee, but I'm pretty sure they they wouldn't.

Isn't tomorrow supposed to be worse? I do not feel good about making it to CDG tomorrow.

July2 Northeast Waiver

There are thunderstorms up here at YYZ they canceled a bunch of flights to IAD, ORD, and EWR. Fortunately (in some sense of the word) I had misconnected off LH 494 so was at the front of the line and got a seat on AC to DCA but a bunch of people were waiting behind me

I am sitting in PHL around 4:45 PM and it is hot and humid, but the sky is very clear. Maybe later or tomorrow there might be weather, but not today.

Depending how unlucky I get, I may very well see you on that flight.

Flight delays at EWR

My wife and kid are travelling from LAX-EWR-BOM in J class on a miles ticket. Her LAX-EWR flight has been diverted to PHL. Her flight to EWR from PHL was delayed and now she is in EWR. Her flight from EWR to BOM is already gone.
United has a line of about 500 people. Does United provide for hotel etc.
What are her options. Any help.
Thanks.

Yes, there were three major systems of thunderstorms going through in one day, but a web site I found didn't show it, so that doesn't give United the right to delay or cancel flights. Of course, it's perfectly fine when other airlines do it, and I'm not going to say a word about them. /cluelessflyer

No hotel for weather unless you're 1K and lucky or GS.

Call for rebooking, don't wait in lines.

Research rebooking options on your own, with space available, and feed them to the agent. Other airlines, including non-*A airlines, are fair game if they're in the best interest of the passenger.
