"Ask Alex" retires from being on UA website

It appears that "Ask Alex" has retired from being on the UA website.

Alex was the interactive agent to whom we could ask questions about anything concerning UA. She would direct one to appropriate answers.

I wonder what UA's plans are to replace Alex? Do FTers think a new interactive feature is coming soon, or will it be part of the promised coming redesigned website?

I see there are many having some humorous posts in this thread at poor Alex's expense. I laugh too.

In addition
to your humorous posts, could you also add to your humor to seriously discuss your thoughts about the future possibilities, and your suggestions, to incorporate an interactive function for asking questions on the new website? Thanks.

If Alex is gone permanently, then I say thanks for your years of service to CO and then to UA customers.

I never found Alex to be very useful. UA has heard my valuable customer input and ...

I have it on good authority that the crack IT team at UA will replace it with

"Ask Jeff"

which is a symlink to /dev/null

It was interesting when introduced in the 90's when there was a MS paperclip, just a talking search function.

The contract came up and they didn't renew it. It had some value as a search interface if they mapped the specific keywords to results pages, but that happened less often than it could have. As a general search engine it was nothing particularly special.

I guess it was inevitable - she was paid way more than the people that handle UA's e-mails and twitter feed.

I hope Alex can find a new job...

I used the search feature a couple of times, but it was clunky on tablets and phones. I'll miss seeing her face though.

Alex always sorta creeped me out with her dead, robot eyes. Glad they made this change.

I was wondering why the American flag was showing up - now I realize that Alex is gone.

Goodbye Alex. I still miss the real HAL.
