I looked at the TX-LIM biz pricing Nov 21- 29:

UA IAH-LIM $3088
AA IAH-DFW-LIM $2265

UA DFW-IAH-LIM $3722
AA DFW-LIM $1415

The AA pricing on the nonstop seems crazy.

I am looking 13 NOV to 19 NOV

$1686 for DFW-LIM on the 763 equipment

I noticed that AA still flies a 757 on that route sometimes. But I will fly the 763 for the lie flat.

Edit: I am thinking of doing the Platinum Challenge on AA. I prefer to not do connections but if I am going to get huge price breaks then I will not mind connecting through DFW since I am close enough to Houston that any IRROPS will have easy solutions for me.

I call your bluff. I've flown every year since 97 over Christmas to OZ and always (except last year) got a cheaper than $1400 flight. But I always booked 3 months in advance.

During this period I've lived/flown from SFO then JFK then back to SFO for about 5 years each.

I have a flight I always do. Costs $300-400 r/t normally (sometimes $500 if it's busy). Went up to $900 r/t recently. Guess what? I am making the 5 hour drive tomorrow in a rental car instead. I refuse to pay that kind of money. Oh, and the plane has a lot of empty seats.
