I've had flights on UA this year but I didn't send the miles to UA because I didn't want to participate in the elite program anymore (they were booked before the PQD announcement). Got this email just now:
Earn both double Premier qualifying miles and double award miles when you fly United.

Once again, left in the dirt by UA. As someone who's a silver but spends plenty of time on non-UA planes as well, I'm the kind of guy they should be targeting with this stuff. Ridiculous.

The offer states in fine print only those persons who receive the original email are eligible to register for the offer.
But this ticks me off that MP is sending out this email offer on the heels of announcing the cuts in RDM for 2015.

I wish the offer I got would have been for double PQM, but it's only for double RDMs. I'll take it though. I also got to pick between two one-time lounge passes or one RPU. For me the RPU is more useful and most of my travel is not domestic, so I already get lounge access and a 1K, MM, star gold.
I have trips to BKK and FCO within the timeframe of this promotion, but they were both purchased months ago. Drat! But I can take advantage of the promo on a September trip to HNL.
