ORD - MAN start date?

Does anyone know when UA will begin their ORD to MAN service? I searched but can't find any info. TIA!

Never. They don't fly that route. AA flies it.

EDIT: Are you thinking of Edinburgh or Shannon?

No - last month the ORD to MAN route was in red in the magazine and this month it is blue...

Their has been no official announcement on a ORD-MAN route. Either they're jumping the gun by throwing that in the magazine or it's a mistake.

Call the GS line, maybe they know something.

Take a closer look. I think you are mistaking Edinburgh for MAN.

I suppose it could be - my eyes aren't what they used to be. Last year the station manager in MAN told me about the potential for the route and then I thought I saw a red line going to MAN - and looked at the route map today and could swear there is a blue line from MAN (just below Edinburgh) to ORD but I am getting old...

I'll be riding that red line back from Scotland in September. ^

RNE, seeing all too much of ORD anymore. Almost makes me miss EWR. Not!

To put this to bed, here's a zoomed-in version of the map, with the red line to ORD:

Easily confusing.

RNE, hoping the relative closeness of EDI means our 757 won't be making an unscheduled fuel stop at YQX.

No, it isn't.

But I too hope YQX stops can be avoided!

What ever would possess someone to make this comment?

That pic is seriously zoomed. The names are not on top of the cities. I bet it's quite difficult to see those little black connecting lines in the Hemispheres original.

The "little lines" as you put it are quite easily discerned. But that's all I'm going to say on this tangent.

RNE, get it? "Lines," "tangent." I kill me!

Lol in my defense I had only the magazine on the airplane to use as reference yesterday and the May Hemispheres edition has no more red lines to that area while online (which I now know how to access) still has it.... And seriously - I challenge you to follow all those damn blue lines perfectly on the airplane!

Perhaps it's my love of cartography, but I have no trouble following each and every line—even after a few drinks.

RNE, and the red lines are a cinch.
