1 hour 50 minutes enough time to change IAH->LHR (UA), LHR->ORK (Aer Lingus)

Hi,

United.com is allowing me to book this.

But don't I have to clear immigration at LHR?

Does UA and Aer Lingus even share the same terminal. Time to get b/w terminals?

Anyone done this before.

IAH-LHR will arrive in T4. The EI flight departs from T1. You'll clear immigration at LHR and then security - you just keep following the Flight Connections signs. There's a bus between the terminals specifically for flight connections.

I believe this connection time is legal - it is very achievable unless your inbound flight is delayed. I've done this connection many times without any problems.

Play with this a bit - it will help you. You will have to clear customs and immigration in the US. Would also recommend you not check bags. Note that the tool says no immigration, only security...

It can be done with reasonable confidence. It won't be fun.

Which would mean the following combination from the links above. You will clear immigration and go through a security check.

Anyone actually done it or something similar?

IAH to LHR (UA) terminal 4
LHR to ORK (EI) terminal 1 in 1 hour 50 minutes?

I used to regularly fly SQ/TG into T3 and transit to T1 to go on to Ireland and it was certainly do-able - I don't recall ever missing a connection with similar transit times. The biggest lottery was the immigration queue in the flight connections centre (follow the purple signs) while this was shorter than the regular queue it was nearly always under-staffed, that may have changed. T4 is further away but shouldn't add that much, the buses were always pretty good.

As a side note there's also a lot of EI flights to DUB and ORK from T1 daily so even if you miss it due to late arrival etc. you should be ok.

+1 - I did T5 to T1 in December. In addition to the loooong bus ride, I was at the farthest possible gate in T1, felt like I walked a 1/2 mile.

But doable w/2 hours.

It's doable, and you'll spend most of your time transiting. No immigration, just security.

You do clear immigration in LHR when connecting to Ireland.
