The arrivals lounge at London Heathrow, located immediately after immigration and customs, is a shared space with shower suites, breakfast items and more. This lounge is exclusively available for United Polaris business class travelers.
Eligible travelers must be flying on a same-day ticket arriving before noon and cannot bring guests. Additionally, United Club memberships and one-time passes dont grant access to this lounge.

Flying into LHR on UA and connecting to LH. I would rather go to the UA Club vs the LH Lounge as I can get a shower at the UA club. I have no issues going out to 2B and back to 2A for my flight, just want to make sure there are no issues with doing that.

None. The travelators only go one way though. Add 2-3 minutes for return trudge.

Thank you very much! Would you recommend using my UA BP or my LH BP to get into the lounge? I know I get UA Club access with a LH J BP per the lounge access rules, but I also feel like sometimes agents make up their own rules.

The London agents are pretty efficient as they deal w/ non-UA *A passengers all the time (unlike some CONUS agents). I'd almost guarantee you'll have zero issue presenting the LH pass.

If youre flying business on UA maybe consider going landside through border control and using the UA Arrivals lounge, then staying in the A concourse for your connecting flight. Presumably if you have enough time for two extraneous trips through the connector (one without moving walkways) you have enough time to go landside (esp if you can use the eGates)

LHR really is pushing the e-gates. They are no longer a shortcut IMHO. In fact, the last time I was through there a couple of weeks ago, they only had a couple of the booths staffed (incl the one nearest the e-gates for problems there. I would suggest a visit to the UC would end up taking less time than the arrivals lounge, all things considered. Really depends on how much time OP's connection is. I give the arrivals lounge edge on food, UC edge on bar and comfort. With the cafeteria table set-up, the arrivals lounge is more of a "get your shower, grab a bite, and head out" type of place, which I think it was meant to be..

One suggestion when using the e-gates is go over to the far left. Other lanes lead to one e-gate; the lane on the far left leads to three. The other thing to do is to monitor the gates when they’re free and let them people ahead of you know when to proceed. It’s typical at airports that most people find change confusing and will stare at a green arrow or “go” sign for a while trying to figure out what it means! The lane on the far left is very fast.
It’s been re-arranged to a one-queue system w/ a monitor at the head of the queue directing people out of the chute to the next e-gate. I didn’t count them, but the one queue led to about 10 e-gates, but everyone got into the one queue for them. I don’t know if it was a test, or the new system. There’s no longer a couple of people half-dozen (or more?) lined up at each gate, it’s down to two or so. And that, I believe, took the columns out of the equation, so there’s no longer a “quicker” area.
My passport has not worked two consecutive times at e-gates. My strategy next trip is to go directly to booth adjacent to e-gates and explain my passport doesn’t work there (that’s all that officer handles).
The manned booths were down to like 3-4 w/ no announced work action going on, so the e-gates look to be the future. If that’s the deal, I’d expect to see more installed in near future.
I miss the "Leave To Enter" passport stamps from the old days. I wish airports would have someone stamping passports after leaving immigration hall for those who want them. Passports aren't as much fun/keepsakes as they used to be...

UA 921 LHR-EWR is delayed tonight, from 18.00 to 22.15. I asked the bartender if they'll stay open and he said as of last month, the LHR T2 UC stays open until 22h daily (for *A).
I have edited the Wiki for this; if it doesn't work out please change it back!
I love this lounge, but i'm biased towards UK sandwiches, curry, coleslaw & cheese. The drinks selection is huge; love a Vodka w/ Bitter Lemon and they are doing Old Fashioneds, Cosmopolitans, etc despite the lack of a cocktail menu. I've always maintained the the LHR UC is Polaris-level and tonight is no exception.
Friendlier than EWR PL.

EDIT: Confirmed 10pm closure, daily, by the front desk staff. Youre welcome.

Agreed that LHR UC is one of the best lounges in the system.

I visited the Polaris Arrivals Club when I arrived in T2 a couple of weeks ago. It's really nice after a 30 minute walk from the arrivals gate to Immigration and about 45 minutes in line there. After going through Customs, go to your left and you'll find it - not too far. It was small but quiet. There are tables to eat at and then a section of comfortable chairs. I ordered breakfast from the menu. The Virgin Mary bar looked like fun - I can't remember if there was alcohol? I'm not a drinker! But it's a nice place to just get your bearings, put your passport back in it's safe place, etc. I didn't have breakfast on the flight, so this was very welcome.
