Well, technically the fare class is R but they call it 'United Business' , not United F

Wondering if there will be an amenity kit? Good meal service?

Anything special since technically its an Intl F seat?

I haven't taken that exact route but I have taken BusinessFirst from IAD to Lima, Peru. We got a dinner, some alcohol and that's about it. I don't remember an amenity kit. It was nothing like the service you would get across the Atlantic. Don't get your hopes up.

That route is NOT considered an international flight. Don't expect the same quality of seats as you would on a plane to Europe or Asia.

Business = Domestic First + UC access. In other words the only difference from domestic first will be that you can access the UC. The meals are the same and the only on-board amenities are a light blanket.

Business is different than BusinessFirst.

Except for the purposes of lounge access.

Yup. And I seem to recall some pretty pathetic meal reports on this route lately.

Note that UA will sell P fares on this route for around $800.

Only for about 18 hours though!

On the other hand, that P fare from SFO-HNL will run about $3k. Or over $4k SFO-JFK.

Update: Free DirectTV on the way out, no WiFi

On the way back, WiFi (for the last 40 minutes of flight) and NO VIDEO screens

Sorry, I still expect just a bit more out of an international flight in F

Fancy it up just a bit United - how about a small amenity kit?

And no video at all on an aircraft in 2014?

Laughable...

Why do you need an amenity kit on a flight that is shorter than a lot of domestic routes? Don't jump to AA or DL for amenity kits to Cancun - you won't get them there, either. It's a low-margin leisure route - not exactly filled with business travelers. It may be international, but you haven't even gotten out of North America.

I sympathize with the OP. I've been on a few South America and Caribbean flights in Business. I wasn't really impressed with the amenities on United.

has anyone had the pleasure of experiencing the foot rests on any planes? I had one a few months ago from GUM-KIX. It was only seats 2AB however. But it was great having it.

well, supposedly similar to Domestic F - International Business then.

Other airlines I have flown in Business were much more impressive.

My point is that United should fancy it up just a bit. The flight was not memorable in any way

My expectations were not high after initial post anyway
