Arrivals facilities

An Arrivals facility is a retreat where United Global First and United BusinessFirst customers arriving by noon on a same-day ticket may freshen up with a shower. Guests can enjoy a breakfast and use complimentary Wi-Fi at some locations. Start your day refreshed at an Arrivals facility.

Before their departing international flight, United Global First and United BusinessFirst customers must ask a United representative at the airport to access the Arrivals facility. Access is subject to availability. Customers cannot bring guests into the Arrivals facilities.

Surprised the benefit has lasted this long. It seems that any (favorable) point of differentiation for UA inevitably becomes the target of a cost cut.

It's interesting, to me, that the international premium products are more obviously the victims of cost cutting lately than their domestic counterparts.

Arrivals in Munich - lounge?

Hello all

Will be arriving in Munich flying business in on United. Is there an option for an arrivals lounge and shower before hitting the office? First time flying into Munich.

Thanks

AFAIK there is no arrival lounge - UA used to use the Hilton hotel for J/F arrivals but I'm not sure that is active any longer - I do know you had to inquire about the lounge prior to departure - I'm sure someone here had more recent experience....

I think the dedicated arrivals lounges are still a go. I used the LHR one two weeks ago (admittedly, this is specifically a UA arrivals lounge like SFO). Afaik, it's just the hotel shower options that went away. Which I can kinda understand, even if I don't like it.

LH site still says UA business class and Global Services get access to the Welcome Lounge. No love for *G in Y, of course.

Flew BF to MUC and inquired pre- and post-departure about this. No info pre-departure, but on arrival the UA ticketing desk (not the check-in contract staff) sent us over to the health club on the lower level of the Hilton attached to the airport. They let us use their locker room/shower at the hotel fitness center. It's not a lounge at all - quite literally just a locker room and a shower.

I recently showered at the LH senators lounge at MUC upon arrival although I was connecting and don't recall the airport layout.

I see from your signature that you're a United 1K. You should inquire at the LH Senator Lounge upon arrival. There may be a welcome lounge with a shower, similar to the landside welcome lounge at FRA, which permits access for arriving Business and Star Gold customers. I just tried to find something on the LH site, but wasn't able to locate a similar lounge at MUC.

I also think it pretty poor that an advertised facility is withdrawn without notice or explanation. It speaks volumes about the lack of customer service given to those who travel internationally in business class.

Well there's some poor advice from UA. There is no UC at FRA or ZRH, and at SFO and LHR you can't get back airside without an onward BP.

So, if I am reading this correctly, there are essentially no more UA or partner (except for LH) arrival facilities - ALL showers that I am aware of in UA facilities are airside, and the only partner facilities left are in FRA and ZRH?

Ouch!
