London-based UA/*A experience

[Cross-posted similar thread to BA forum]

I'm moving to London next Fall, and am trying to decide if I will still with UA/*A or make the jump to BA/OW.

I will be mostly taking intraeuropean with 1-2 trips to Asia and the USA per annum. Previously, I've found most IE flights to/from LHR to be easiest on BA, with LH/LX being uncompetitively priced and/or with inconvenient scheduling. I'm rather fond of UA E+ for TATL flights, and have had ghastly experiences with AA flying domestically, but I'm not sure how that will stack up if based in the UK.

Any advice/experience from flyers based in UK/London?

I don't travel much within europe, but for going from the UK to asia, *A is quite good: SQ, LH, LX, NH, OZ, CA etc.
