Highly doubtful - that was from a more over-entitled time :-:

United Club changes (drinks and Wifi) - Sept/Oct. 2013

Question for all u United Club regulars... I heard through the grapevine that United Club will start to charge $29.99 for a guest. A member will no longer bring in a guest. Is that true? If so it comes as no surprises since the clubs r WAY to packed.

I can't say I've read through this thread, but I'd expect any answer would be here:

I hope you paid. There is a cup next to the "platter" $1.00 for 3 cubes or every third Friday $1.00 for four. Throw in 8 cents (tax). Napkin 10 cents. Toothpick only a nickle.

As long as they don't mess with the shortbread cookies...

Is this because I always fill my pockets with cheese as I leave?

Nothing like a room full of grimy global travelers and mini petri dish cubes sitting out.

I just don't get people paying 5-600 dollars to go into a room often more crowded than the rest of the airport, and on top of it, paying for the drinks.

Flew on 1/12. Both IAH (Terminal E) and EWR (Both C Terminal Clubs) still wide open.

Never really had any issues with the speed. But did notice that the Terminal A Club had gotten the upgraded access points (N 144mbs) in December.

Cheers,

Cubes of what? If you're referring to cheese you haven't been in a club in a while.

Authentication is an additional PITB for staff viz requests such as "Can you help me log in?", number of devices per customer; etc. Albeit good in general IMO because less people are on the network if done 'wrong' and I am having to log in all the time because I won't like it.
